1. Interpretative Analysis - John Sarkissian will coach and guide individual performers or small ensembles in the interpretation and a more profound understanding of any pieces of the participants’ choosing from Renaissance to Contemporary as well as John Sarkissian’s own solo or chamber music compositions. 2. The Opera and Music Theather Workshop - Analysis of well or lesser-known operatic scenes (or scenes from operettas or musical theater) with emphasis on various aspects such as overall structure, harmonic progressions, libretto, orchestration and especially, the compositional techniques used to achieve specific dramatic goals. Participants having written a stage work or working on one are encouraged to present a scene from their own works. (Participants are encouraged to send their scores in advance, by latest July 31st, to John Sarkissian in PDF or FINALE (.MUS) format by email to compositore@nii.net or in hardcopy by air-mail to John Sarkissian, 35 Bittern Court, Rockcliffe ON, K1L 8K9 Canada.)
